A LITTLE BIT OF MOON MAGICKS

So it’s the dark moon before the official New Moon in Capricorn on 12/28, 11:53 PM.

The moon is so very dark; you can feel the pull of it. Energetically it can make us super tired, or amped up and wild eyed. For many of us (especially us wild moon women) we are profoundly affected by this time of the moon cycle, perhaps even more so than what occurs during a Full Moon.

What to do? What if you cannot take that time to nap, or take that luxurious lavender/Epsom Salt bath that you really want to take? Sometime it’s not possible.

I suggest a little yoga, perhaps some Moon Salutations?

Yoga not your speed? Listen to a little bit of softer music on your way to work/store/school.

Feeling vulnerable? Some of that magic white light that is easily at our disposal is easy to wrap ourselves in. That white magic light is easily created by us, and calls to all the spirits of light and love to come to our aid.

Most importantly is that you have GOTTA burn some sage. Get that sage good and smoky, and sage your home. While you are at it, sage your cat (oh he/she is gonna LOVE that!) After that, sage yourself. Get rid of any old energies that shouldn’t cling to you as you make your way to the next month, the next phase of your life.

Always remember to honor how your body and soul are affected during this time of month, and leave yourself open for the magic of the moon to land on you.

NEW MOON IN CAPRICORN - A GRAND NEW VIEW

The New Moon in Capricorn on late Wednesday night has me feeling happy and hopeful. Like anything can happen.

But can it?

The Universe has been laboring especially hard to make sure we learn all the lessons we need to; about responsibility to others, for ourselves and how to be realistic. Anything that carried any kind vibe of lies or subterfuge has been yanked away and burned. 

Sometimes the fates have seemed especially cruel, without any kind of rhyme or reason. 2016, in particular has felt like a sadistic, nasty little person.

Ok, rant over. This New Moon is the launch pad to get you going on your next victory.

This New Moon is so different. This New Moon asks you to be responsible TO yourself. 

Have those conversations that need to be had. If it's with a person or yourself, do it. If there is ANYTHING in your life that rubs you the wrong way it's time to handle it.

If you don't yet have that big impossible dream, this New Moon will conjure it for you. If you already have the dream you are chugging away at, this New Moon will give you the drive, focus and grit to get at it.

Remember, if there is anything that Capricorn loves it's a winner.

WEEKLY HOROSCOPES FOR 12/26

Hello all my magic muffins! This is the last week of 2016 before we make our way into 2017.

And what a year 2016 was.

Of course every year presents it’s own set of challenges, lessons and gifts; 2016 was a year that swung radically in each direction, giving us very little time to grab a breath.

This last week isn’t much different than 2016; it’s a dramatic week that leaves us leaving 2016 with a bang. A big one. It runs the gambit between huge shifts and leaps of faith that can take us to the other side (whatever THAT may be) as well as a new start in building ambition (Mercury RX doesn’t ruin EVERYTHING)

Jupiter and Uranus have a stand off…another continuation of the Me/We conversation as well as a moment to think about what needs to happen to bring on necessary change. On NYE Mars and Neptune link up in Pisces; intense over intoxication or the ability to travel amongst different realms/dimensions. Depends on if you want to get lost or wake up.

Most importantly, we are in the middle of an AMAZING Saturn/Uranus Trine.

“But what is that?”

It is where hard work and careful plotting dance with innovation, adventure and eccentricity. It’s powerfully good stuff.

CRIB SHEETS ON HOW TO HANDLE THIS WEEK’S ENERGY:

ARIES SUN/RISING: Who you are has been in constant flux for the past few years; you find that you are, in many ways, unrecognizable to yourself. You are finding that your most important partnerships are forcing you to either bloom into the next big, fabulous incarnation of yourself, or making a stand of forcing you to just BE. Pay attention to your gut and in what you really desire.

TAURUS SUN/RISING: It’s been a quiet transition for you that began during the era of Saturn in Scorpio (2012-2014) that shook you out of your comfort zone…something that most Taurus’s are NOT into. Even more so is the fact that you, who has always enjoyed the pleasures of community, will need to continue to slip away into living in your very own joy. CANCER SUN/RISING: Most of you are still gestating the lessons from the big cardinal cross days of 2012-2015. It’s been a process, extracting old programs that kept you alive and thieving when you were younger, but destructive the older you got. Now you are tasting the freedom that comes when you step out of the matrix of your old programs. Who are you now? Someone who wants his or her piece of the pie. Amp up your philosophy, amp up your life.

LEO SUN/RISING: This week will give the chance to pull yourself into another consciousness about how you view power dynamics and your willingness to share with others. Be it the spotlight, your money or your French fries. As long as you remember that there is always enough to go around, you will be ok. While you have been focusing on a new attitude, remember to be better, not bitter. From January on you’ll get your groove back in a big way.

VIRGO SUN/RISING: That wild dynamic of shared resources and what is your own will come into play in some way this week. You are in prime time moneymaking mode, and you can’t let old ideas around success or someone pulling you back to earth. You have to be in the scene in order to own it. You’ll be visited by a “Ghost of Christmas Present” vibe, rekindling something you love and what gives you joy.

LIBRA SUN/RISING: Don’t get the yips now. While you have from now until the end of September to enjoy the gift of Jupiter in your sign, this upcoming week could really be huge for you for starting something new that can launch you into the next phase of your evolution (Mercury RX be damned!) although since Mercury RX is in play, something from your past can be the rocket fuel to get you to the next level.

Your whole love/lust/creativity scene is getting a huge boost these days, thanks to your new direction of embracing your place in community. Your lesson is in being in your community and part of its progress. Let the love of those around you launch you into a new direction.

CAPRICORN SUN/RISING: This week you will be coming at the world with a fresh perspective of what it means to be self-aware. You are being aided by your ability to look at the past, and what it is that you hope that the future holds. Capricorns dig tradition, but can often find keeping the home fires burning to be a challenge. This week you’ll find that these two parts of your life can work in tandem, not in spite of one another.

AQUARIUS SUN/RISING: You are SOOOO done with your poverty mindset, one that has seemed to take grip since 7 years ago. Oh you wild ones. You have to work so hard to be free.

From the beginning of your life, school may have been a challenge for you, simply because you refused to be spoon-fed what the “man” was trying to teach you. You knew from the start that no matter what you were told, only YOU could truly learn about life in your very own way.

But it always felt as if it was a struggle to live your own truth. Maybe “they” just wouldn’t let you do that.

You own truth…that is what you need to live. What kind of space you need to create in order to truly LIVE your own beliefs. Perhaps, because of the struggle you can be a bit dogmatic, and a little rough when trying to express what it is that you believe.

But you find your way, like other Saturn in Sagittarius folks like Mahatma Gandhi, Michael Jackson, Madonna and Martin Luther King Jr.

And here you are, my dear Saturn in Sagittarius folks. Going through the difficult yet necessary Saturn Return. If you are between 27-30 or 56-59, you are going through it, about to go through it, or wrapping it up. It’s a pivotal time.

I can hear some of you asking “but what is a Saturn Return?”

Quite simply, Saturn is the planet of checks and balances, of time, of building structures and of hard work. You can’t get around Saturn, because he doesn’t allow short cuts.

A Saturn Return is where Papa Saturn comes back to the spot that Saturn was when you were born. He’s kind of like the Ghost of Christmas Past…showing you were you have been doing the good stuff, and where you have been flunking out of life miserably. If you have built your life on shaky ground, everything will crumble. However, Saturn is usually kind enough to show you the way.

Saturn making his return can feel a little crazy, and can reverberate through the next few years. If it feels like torture, it’s not. It’s just Saturn trying to help you have a better life, and to live your purpose.

MERCURY RX AND ME

After all of these years of reading and teaching about how harmless Mercury Retrogrades are, I still tend to get sideswiped by it in some way.

More often than not it’s in little ways, such as getting being late for EVERYTHING (well, we can partially blame that on the MTA) and being more than a little sloppy in my communications (I’m a writer and a teacher; no room for THAT)

I’m still pleasantly surprised when I run into old friends, or pick up an old project that had been abandoned along the way.

I started dating my husband during a Mercury RX; I tell my friends that, and often get a combination of confused/horrified/confounded expressions in response. I shrug and tell them how we had been circling each other for months before we finally started our relationship.

Whatever comes back during a Mercury RX is meant for a closer look, a deeper consideration.

Mercury doesn’t just rule communications/travel/electronics. That little planet also rules medicine, commerce, sibling relationships and money that you make. So when Mercury goes RX, odds can be high that something that had seemed scarce may come back to you in a big way (it really all depends on what Mercury is doing in your chart).

Everything from past versions of me that do not serve who I am becoming needs to find it’s way to a happier home.

Mercury RX’s are never ever random; there is always a lesson. Mercury isn’t the dumb blond of the Zodiac; he’s so fast and has wisdom that we earthlings probably don’t appreciate.
