THIS WEEK IN THE STARS 11/2/15-11/8/15 - PRETTY IS AS PRETTY DOES

So this week we have a fantastic start with Venus & Mars meeting up on November 2. This Conjunction has been brewing for a few days at this point, but on 11/2 it becomes exact.  That’s a nice way to kick off the week. Then Jupiter in Virgo makes his presence known…first by making an opposition to Chiron in Pisces, then an inconjunct to Uranus in Aries. Seeing as how Jupiter is in Virgo, it’s all about the integrity of seeing results. There may be some serious perfectionist themes going on, but otherwise it’s about forward motion. Virgo nearly always wants to be in a state of an upgrade. The focus this week will be (in many ways) about the hard work it takes to heal, and the hard work it takes to get ahead. Uranus in Aries has a lot of ambition here, but mostly the drive to chart your own course. Enthusiasm is good, but it’s always best to be aware of the practicalities of it all. Perhaps we may even receive a surprise windfall/promotion or anything to help forward motion occur. But anything Uranus/Aries this week can bring you back a few steps. The Venus/Mars conjunction in Virgo will help chart the way.

HALLOWEEN: BUMP IN THE DARK

I LOVE Halloween. Like, really live for it. I used to be obsessed with dressing up…touching upon that darker vein running through me. I wanted to be bad, naughty and really unleash that thing running amok in me. Maybe I liked Halloween because it gave me an outlet.

I still love Halloween, but for different reasons. I still relish the dark, but I’m careful with it now because I have learned just what can lurk in the dark. What lives in the shadows?  I’m not just talking about what lives inside of us, but what is looking to pounce in the outside world. Ghosts, evil and madness are a very real thing. Darkness…some of it cannot be played with.

Our ancestors understood this. They weren’t distracted by bright TV lights or gadgets…or someone telling us that the Bump in the Dark was just our imagination. That is why they honored this night with bonfires, offerings and bribes of candy to the restless spirits…corporal or ghostly.

That being said, it is also a time where we can fearlessly look into that dark night that has teeth. It’s the time where we can delve into that really bad part of ourselves. It’s always necessary to do so, to know exactly what you are capable. This is the time of year to figure out what is your super power, and what is the true capacity of your own personal brand of evil. If you know it, it has no power over you. Better yet, you know that it is there if you ever really need it. Your ace in the hole, if you will.

For Halloween, I like to protect my energy. I don’t need to wear a costume to be a dark witch, a priestess, a slutty waitress or devil (but don’t get me wrong, I’ve done all those costumes and they are a LOT of fun). All those things live inside me, so I honor them while I honor the dead, the lost and the things that feel that whatever is happening here on earth is a helluva lot more fun than whatever is going on beyond the veil.

Just know whoever you kiss on Halloween may be on borrowed time here on this side of the realms.

This week is the kind of week that holds all the elements of Danielle Steele novel. We have joy, success, passion, betrayal and a happy ending. All of this will be occurring under the light of the Full Moon occurring on 10/27. This Full moon brings a Venus/Chiron opposition, so love can equal pain. Feel unpretty? Sometimes Chiron wants you to pay attention to someone else’s beauty in order to see your own.

Scorpio is involved, so we will all be feeling especially dark eyed and red lipped. Pluto and Venus are also in play this week, so expect romance to be penetrating, hot and maybe some discussions surrounding every day tasks (after all Venus IS in Virgo). Not to mention that Mars and Venus are making a conjunction…a marriage of the divine feminine and the divine masculine. It could be a hot celestial romp…

PISCES SUN/RISING: Communications that have needed to happen for a while will be occurring with this Full Moon. With Venus making an opposition to Chiron this week, you may feel like issues dealing with who you are and how you show up bringing some pain…like maybe you failed somewhere and may not know how to fix it. The thing is that your perspective is the key here, and acknowledgement of growth in yourself is important. Sometimes, everybody hurts. But it’s not for nothing. There is a lesson in the pain.

FULL MOON IN TAURUS 10/27/15: SOBER

This Full Moon brings something different to us. While usually a Full Moon can offer clarity of some kind, an ending or a line in the sand in one way or another, this Full Moon really doesn’t do that. There is just too much going on around us all, and in the cosmos for us to have any real aha moments.

However I am completely confident that there will be some baying at the moon. After all that it what happens during a Full Moon, not to mention that since this Full Moon is bookended by a Venus/Jupiter conjunction 3 days earlier, and the Moon makes a few great earth trines the day after the Full Moon on October 28. We all might be a little wired and full of energy…optimism as if nothing in the world can stop us.

However the day of the Full Moon Venus makes an opposition to Chiron, Venus makes an inconjunct to Uranus in Aries, and the moon makes an inconjunct to Saturn in Sagittarius.

What all this means is that things will rub us the wrong way. We may feel unpretty, we may experience some money woes, and we may be in a position where we just cannot share our feelings our opinions. Feeling stifled during a Full Moon is rough and nearly impossible to manage. This Full Moon and the activities can be a sobering affect on us, and in some ways completely unnecessary.

However, the moon will be making a sextile to Neptune in Pisces, getting some support in our dreams. The other aspects won’t let us get carried away with imbibing too much, but it can offer a little sweet release.

Then the moon makes a very helpful trine to Pluto as the night closes in. This trine will help us dig in, find strength and to suss out what is really going on. In a very twisted way, Pluto rewards pain. It’s like he respects those with a higher threshold for discomfort…or even calamity.

It’s a serious Full Moon with not a lot of wiggle room. Hopefully any gray feelings you might have can contribute to growth, and the Moon can shed some light and magic on the whole thing.

We’ve got Venus & Jupiter shacking up in a conjunction this week on Sunday, 10/25. These two planets of love, money and happy vibes met up a few times over the summer, but Venus was retrograde in Jupiter, so it wasn’t as terrific as it could have been.
