BLAME IT ON THE BOOGIE

This magic music grooves me,
that dirty rhythm fools me
The devil's gotten to me through this dance
I'm full of funky fever,
a fire burns inside me
Boogie's got me in a super trance

“Blame it on the Boogie” Jackson Five

That Full moon in Aquarius was something else. It gave us a freshness…. And most importantly a sense of purpose we have been lacking as well as giving us an opening to really give a damn about others. When in survival mode it’s hard to care about others… but we aren’t in that dark space at the moment. Doesn’t mean that we wont be there again soon… but for now we get a free pass to look beyond mere survival.
Now onto the beauty of the next few days; It’s been a hot sweaty couple of years. Metaphorically speaking. The world is on fire, and I’m pretty sure that we have all spent a lot of time in our lives putting out fires and dealing with the rapid way the world is changing. Luckily we have planets in Neptune to chill us out.
However, the mood of the week and one that will continue for the next few days is of breathing room, in the guise of astrological trines, conjunctions and sextiles If we didn’t have the softer astrological aspects, we would never have the space to the get the lessons from the rough aspects that we have been going through.
All the astrological omens that force change and growth (squares, oppositions, cardinal crosses) happen to shake us up wake us up and get it together. (It being whatever “it” means to any person)
We have breathing room now, with the Sun in “just chill the f#@% out and put on your best duds, stop complaining and dance” Leo.  Leo’s like a good party, and do not want to hear any crying about a break up, a lost job or an asshole roommate. Leo will tell you to shake that off, slather on some hot red lipstick and shake your thang.
This is where we are this week, with the Moon in Pisces conjunct Neptune in a pretty lil’ square to Venus then making a sweet trine to Saturn in Scorpio and Jupiter/Mars/Mercury in Cancer.  As I mentioned before, trines and (certain) conjunctions are all easy living astrological aspects.
When the Moon moves in Aries, it’ll trigger some squarish behavior towards all the planets in Cancer, but party man Jupiter isn’t hearing any kind of fights or fussing. Jupiter is a lot like Leo; Larger than life and wanting everything to just be cool.  Go out, find some beach to dance naked on. Get a little wild, laugh a little too loud and hug your friends tight. Right now there is nothing to do but dance and let go.
What this means my friends is that lets just chill out, have fun, drink a little too much champagne (or whatever you like) and blast your radio.

GO BIG.

LA LUNA

We are in the deep dark of the New Moon in Cancer. The air is ripe with possibility and promise. Wishes whispered in the dark come true; cakes are baked with love and emotions ebb and flow. Release is finally ours.
Cancer is often associated with home, roots, family and values. Donna Reed with a pristine apron baking pies and arranging flowers lovingly comes to mind. Unfailing generosity, huge forgiving hearts and sweet kisses are often hallmarks of Cancers.
Tear, moody outbreaks and needy clannish behavior have also been associated with the sign Cancer.
I have to say that I have seen all of these behaviors with Cancers. However, I have to say that I have always found Cancer’s to be tenacious, shrewd and most importantly, staunch survivors. Cancers can weather the worst kind of storms and live to tell the tale.
Being a Cancer Sun with a number of Cancer friends, I observe our behaviors as if under a microscope. Often, in this wild world that we live in, the values that Cancer’s hold dear seem outdated and silly. However, Cancers understand that it takes a village to make it through this life. My Cancer friend created a yearly thanksgiving dinner that happens the day after, just for our group of friends that have become a family of sorts. This has been a Godsend for those that have nowhere to go for the holidays.
The world we have lived in up until recently has been one of fast paced communication, ruthless behavior where the big guys get away with everything, and short attention spans.
The planetary shifts of the past few years are starting to phase out that way of being. The intense Cardinal Crosses of the past 4 years has focused on that.

Saturn in Libra 2009-2012= reconstructing relationships and partnerships in authentic experiences that are fair and true
Uranus in Aries 2011-2018= change and inspiration; a wake up call to do the impossible; break down of the status quo
Pluto in Capricorn 2008- “the Great Transformer” revamping and changing the structures in our lives as well as any kind of societal constructs

Now Jupiter is in Cancer and is exalted as well; this is a boon from the universe. It is only fair; in these past years of the Cardinal Crosses, there haven’t been any long term planets in Cancer to balance things out, so Cancer has take the brunt and the weight of the madness of the world. Cancer has acted like Atlas, bearing the weight of the world.
Now it’s time for Cancer to get a break.
I know, if you aren’t a Cancer you are probably asking, “what does this have to do with me?”
My little grasshopper, where Cancer lies in your chart is the place you probably have had to bear unspeakable pressures in silence. Wherever Cancer is in your Solar/Natal chart, this is the part of your life that has had to be neglected in order to take care of the other parts of your life that have demanded attention. Chances are, there’s been a lot of being able to barely stay afloat.
Now that we have the New Moon in Cancer joining Jupiter we really get a good taste of that Grand Water Trine and now we can begin to feel Jupiter’s presence in a part of our lives that we had to count as dead and buried awhile ago.
You have the freedom to imagine anything and everything. What really matters the most to you?
Now is the time to pay attention to it and love it into reality.

THE REALNESS

Guess who’s coming to dinner?

Saturn is back from his long, leisurely retrograde period that began back in February. I would like to say that this Saturn retrograde had made your life marginally easier than before, but with all this planetary stuff going on I would be lying. Nope… but if you are living on planet earth, the chances that each and every one of you is going through crazy soul rocking changes is high.
Saturn coming direct on July 8th (day of the New Moon in Cancer) merely ups the ante. Feelings have been running high and hot for a while, with one day ripe with breakthroughs, and another day were everything feels as if it’s falling apart. At times its as if we are floating or rocking through life. The days of ease are now over, no matter how hard we fight it or how tight we tuck into a soft robe and clutch a large glass of wine.
What we need is a hard dose of reality, and Saturn is going to do just that. Saturn will also give us stability.
Oh, wait. Saturn is currently in Scorpio. Scorpio can’t help but stir things up. Scorpio will never sit quiet in a corner unless she’s plotting your demise.  Scorpio is intense.
Now Saturn isn’t here to bust your chops or make your life a living hell. Saturn needs you to understand that you probably aren’t working hard enough, aren’t living up to your true potential and need to fix some stuff in your life.  Wherever Saturn falls in your chart or in relation to your Sun sign, that is where he is kicking your chair and making you stand at attention. Saturn wants you to be realistic about your life; he just can’t stand to see us waste ourselves on things, pursuits and habits that are false and damaging.  The harder you resist him or try to ignore him, the more he’s going to rattle your cage until you listen to him and agree. Saturn is obsessed about time, and chances are will make you freak about how much time you have wasted in your life.
Now that he is back in action, just do yourself a huge favor and listen to him. Saturn will let you know how bad you are doing by taking away the things that weaken and diminish you.  Saturn will show you the flaws in any plan by giving you endless setbacks. Whatever in your life that is stilted and painful Saturn is there. Pay attention, Times a wastin’.

July Forecast-HOLD ON

The Summer of Transformation is upon us, even if we are ready or not.

This past June…It was a nice sweet ride, wasn’t it? We ended June on a lovely note, with 4 heavenly bodies in Cancer, and that awesome Grand Water Trine happening…making life just seem so much sweeter and easier then we have had in so long.

We need times like that, to remind us that life doesn’t have to be all struggle.
July, on the other hand will grant us the lovely gift of getting it all off our chests. No nicey-nice conversations or handholding. The universe wants us to vent our spleen, and to get it all out on the mat. You have something you need to deal with? Issues that you have chosen to sweep under the rug? Get ready for it all to be aired.
Why? Mercury is Retrograde in Cancer until the end of the month, Venus in Leo is in a Square with Saturn in Scorpio; Saturn often wags his finger at what he considers to be extravagant behavior, and Venus is Leo will tell Saturn to shut up; The Sun in Cancer will have an opposition with powerful Pluto; but the Sun in Cancer has Jupiter and Mercury as back up; the Sun will not be cowed by Pluto’s authority.

Does this resonate with any of you? Remember, as is above so is below.  What this planetary mash up has to offer us is freedom from the foot on your throat, and perhaps a much-needed wake up call about the matters in your life.

Now, Venus/Sun/Mercury/Jupiter tend to be benign, while Saturn/Pluto are the baddies of the planetary family. There won’t be huge fights or intense fireworks; a simple and consistent NO is what will create the greatest resistance against any power plays, and allows time to figure things out.

What this does do for us is to make us stop being complacent; remember, squares and oppositions happen to create action and movement.

We have the first half of the month to plan and figure out how our life needs to be changed and how to gain control of our lives. When Mars joins Mercury, Jupiter and the Sun in Cancer on July 17, we begin to see a boost and results in the plans that we hold most dear.

The end of the month rounds up with a party. A congrats, if you will. Mercury goes direct; the Sun goes into Leo with a Full Moon in Aquarius close behind. Creativity, independence and the desire to shine will rush through us all. When Venus moves into Virgo on July 22, we are able to temper our wild desires with practicality.

Things are moving fast; you won’t get whiplash. Believe it or not, we are all ready for the next step in our evolution.
