Hello my Starbabies! Welcome to an action packed week. We’ve got that incandescent New Moon in Aries as well as some exciting trines and conjunction happening in the fire signs. Mercury and Saturn playing nicely, with the moon hooking up and heating up the skies. That Jupiter/Pluto Square is taking center stage in the middle of the week, and there is no gray area here; we evolve past old crap, or we don’t. "1989" - A SATURN IN SCORPIO STYLE LOVE STORY

So I get obsessed with music, with certain songs, artists and albums. I can listen to albums on loop for hours and days until I absorb the songs into my skin. Could it be because of my moon in Scorpio or my Libra rising? Could it be because of both?

I first fell in love with the music of Ryan Adams in 2004 when I heard “Dance Tonight” off of some Vanity Fair compellation CD. I was hooked. Perhaps his moody Scorpio Sun spoke to my dark Scorpio Moon.

I am also a fan of Taylor Swift. No matter where I am in my life, her music manages to resonate with that cheeky, lovelorn teenage girl that I was.

A few weeks ago, while slogging around in that ruthless Eclipse fog that was February 2017, I downloaded Ryan Adam’s album version of “1989”. I was totally immersed, and might actually love his version more than Tay-tay’s.

The astrologer in me wondered why this alt-rock dude would decide to take on this musical project. I wondered what was going on in his life that this album resonated with him, and why he would use Taylor Swift’s music to express himself?

After doing some digging, I found this great Rolling Stones article about this album http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/ryan-adams-on-his-full-album-taylor-swift-cover-you-just-have-to-mean-it-20150921 and found that it explained everything. Ryan’s marriage to Mandy Moore had fallen apart, and he was feeling at sea. Perhaps Taylor Swift’s “1989” was a point of light for him in the dark.

More heartbreaking than the original, a reflection of his current pain, a pain he could protect behind the mask of someone else’s words, so no one else could know how he truly felt about the personal pain in his life.

You see, when Ryan Adam’s marriage had come to a close and the genesis of this musical project took root Saturn had just left Scorpio. Saturn had been passing over Ryan Adam’s Sun in Scorpio, as well as his Venus and Mars in Scorpio. As anyone who has lived through Saturn making a conjunction to any of the personal planets (Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars) it’s a time of painful scrutiny. It’s a time where much of your life falls apart, and it can be stunning in how specific the downfall can be.

When Saturn hits your Sun, it can be impossible to figure out who you are…impossible to fully express who you are becoming and what you feel.

Instead of falling apart, Ryan Adams took his pain and transformed an already awesome album into a beautiful expression of his transformation that he may not have had the words yet of how to express himself.

FULL MOON IN VIRGO – SE FUI

I keep thinking about this Full Moon in varying terms; I feel like this Full Moon is more than spring cleaning, more than getting your ducks in a row. I know that this Full Moon is under some stress due to Saturn towards Mercury being cranky as well as Chiron giving us something new to ache over.

However I feel like this Full Moon is under the spell of Pluto. Pluto, that dastardly planet of transformation, of sex, power and evolution. Pluto hasn’t been good to us humans for the bulk of this decade; too many squares, to many things where the stakes are just so terrifyingly high.

However this Full Moon is getting some help from Pluto in the form of a helpful trine. This is the last time that Virgo truly has the floor in all matters of the moon and nodes (at least for another 9 years).

Virgo taught us all something during the eclipse series between Virgo and Pisces. It’s personal to everyone, so I’m not going to make some blanket statement of what this particular eclipse series should have meant to you.

However, because it is Virgo, something will need to be cleaned and scoured. Some part of your life needs to be ruthlessly purged. Something needs to be given up on. This is what has to happen during a Full Moon…the time of endings and illuminations.

Something has to go or be totally transformed….and it might be shocking to you on just how easy it will be, regardless of the fact that it could be painful or you can feel restricted by some set of circumstances or some wound reveled.

This Virgo Full Moon/Pluto Trine will make whatever needs to go seamless. You can’t worry about the time you spent on something, you can’t worry about what you lost or what was transformed. All you can do is think about the idea that “thank goodness it’s gone”. It’s a perspective of cauterizing something in your life, so something else can live and grow and bloom.
